First, the introduction outlines a historiographical tradition that has sought to read Hogarth’s works in the light of cinema, and vice versa. Then, following a presentation of the contributions to this volume divided into three parts (narrative serialization, image and movement, social and cultural concerns), the authors suggest a number of research avenues, which have yet to be explored.
