Tsai Ming-liang’s fictions describe a contemporary urban network which separates the impersonal trajectories of individuals who have relations only with objects, elements and places. But the finales of h0is movies exceed this loneliness to give a figure to the union which would set their return in the human community. A figurativity of the separation finally results in a figurability of meeting as impossible: as a miracle, a disaster or a postponed event.
