Parricide in France and the Far East Between media symbol and legal desacralization

Beyond the legal framework, the crime of parricide occupies a unique place in society. All cases, whether in France or in the Far East, are recounted in historical chronicles that also describe the circumstances in which they were committed. In the twentieth century, it was the turn of the press, literature, and cinema to report on parricide. Even though French criminal law was deployed in the Far East, the Confucian norm of filial piety remains central.
