Poetry is a popular form of expression in Ukraine. The few existing translations into French testify to the asymmetrical links that can exist between dominant and dominated languages/cultures. This study examines the ethical and political dimensions of translation that comparative literature enlightens when it takes as its object the poetic and fictional writing of a historical conflict and its memorial and testimonial (trans)mission.
