This paper sheds light on the link between censorship and posthumous printing of private writings or sayings: is it legitimate to bring out those texts whose paternity is unstated? This corpus allows to consider the operation of censorship in the specific context of early modern print culture, when nor the idea of printing scholars’ arcanes, nor those of copyright or intellectual responsibility were usual.
