This study shows that the theatrical censorship has been maintained, nearly eighty years after the abolition of all kinds of repression on books and newspapers, only by a general consensus about its maintenance, along the 19th century. The proof rest on the likeness and agreement between censors’ reports and journalists’ articles, written when the theatrical success were created during Restauration, Monarchie de Juillet and Second Empire.
