Albert Camus, la morale et l’éthique

  • Publication type: Article from a collective work
  • Collective work: Camus et l’éthique
  • Author: Morisi (Ève)
  • Abstract: This volume begins with a synthesis of the key moments and perspectives which have both linked Camus to morality and separated him from it. His denial of an absolute morality is examined as well as his informal, multifaceted, and spirited ethical training, and the defining principles which emerged from it. These elements shape and are shaped by the way in which the author confronted contemporary history and approached his art : with modesty, a practical spirit, and a demand for solidarity, all founded on a persistent sense of doubt and self-criticism.
