A writing technique that both Rachilde and Mirbeau often lean towards is rewriting. They use similar themes or republish texts. The two writers are also literary critics of a good reputation and honest artists, it’s thus interesting to look at the reasons for this "recycling", instead of hastily concluding their laziness or lack of invention. One will discover then that their rewriting, carried out with different methods, aims at a similar goal, beyond a simple ergonomic strategy.
