This analysis of Poésies sheds light on some of the mechanisms of irony and humor in Ducasse’s work. We discuss the different models summoned by the author, as well as the repurposing of maxims. We also highlight the porosity of the two works: Les Chants de Maldoror and Poésies, and of the two facets of the author: Lautréamont and Ducasse.
