In Les Instants de Giraudoux, André Beucler devotes a chapter to the Commissariat général à l’Information. Thirty years later, in De Saint-Petersbourg à Saint-Germain-des-Prés, he recounts a mission entrusted to him by his “boss,” leading him to the gates of Nazi Germany, from which he had been expelled a few years earlier. This trip, attested by official documents, provides a subtle portrait of a Giraudoux who still wanted to believe that the war would not happen.
