The paper aims to analyze the question of the body and the flesh in the work of Julien Green. The centrality of the body is ambiguous at least and his autobiography highlights limits and ambivalences in relation to the religion and to the idea of sin. The passion of the body with its double meaning could explain Green’s life path and writing, poised between reticence and the compulsion to confess.
