The evolution of the medical lexicon of the 19^th century in the editions of the DRAE of 1869, 1884 and 1899

The new vocabulary of medicine that appeared in the 1869, 1884 and 1899 editions of the dictionary of the Real Academia Española (DRAE) is a faithful reflection of the evolution of medical science in the 19th century. His new medical vocabulary was taken up in Spanish through the increasing importance of the 19th century press and the translations. This paper analyses the birth of a new vocabulary and its reception in the editions of the dictionary of the DRAE.
