The Reflexive Unity of the Principle of Dislocation The Case “Mad Pierrot” in the Animated Series Cowboy Bebop

Science fiction is often defined by its function of anticipation, based on an extrapolation of scientific knowledge at a given time. But this is not the only function of science fiction. Based on the “dislocation principle” theorized by Philip K. Dick, we propose to question the conditions of production of a new function called “reflexive unity” by focusing on the episode “Mad Pierrot” of the animated series Cowboy Bebop.
