Chateaubriand, English writer? Recomposition of a literary sociability in exile

During the French Revolution, many writers emigrated, causing an upheaval in Parisian literary life. Chateaubriand stayed in England from 1793 to 1800, where he was particularly involved in the press and translated English poets. The new sociability that he reconstructed, built on the return of old family or regional ties, and on the frequentation of a new cultural and literary world, deeply marked his poetics.
