The distortions that characterize the written forms of the dizains in which Verlaine gives voice in his correspondence to a missing Rimbaud have been analyzed in particular as phonetic evidence of the way the poet spoke. Revisiting their signifying potential gives us a better understanding of the complex play of poetic complicity woven between present and absent initiated interlocutors.
