Based on the conversation analysis of two Fêtes galantes pieces, “Les Indolents” and “Sur l’herbe”, this article deals with how Verlaine questions the limits of the sentence conceived as a grammatical entity and rather tends to favor the emergence of a “phrasing” (phrasé) in his texts.
