Nerval chronicler of the Springtime of the Peoples in Karr’s Le Journal Between romantic enthusiasm and political lucidity

Of all Nerval’s journalistic collaborations, his participation in Karr’s Le Journal, a newspaper published in 1848, from July 28 to October 31, is one of the least known. Our investigation attempts to respond to this gap by proposing the guidelines for a future edition of anonymous articles to which Nerval may not be a stranger and by highlighting the extent to which these articles offer a coherent political vision likely to enlighten his work in return.
