In Promenades et souvenirs, we find several allusions and quotations, most of which are clarified, but there are a few that remain poorly explained. In this article I propose to answer three questions: who composed a song cited in the work? and then what poems by Ronsard and Du Bellay the narrator could have declaimed while thinking of Marie Stuart? and finally where does his use of the word bari in the sense of “Egyptian boat” come from?
