From 1913 to 1948, a close friendship unites critic Gabriel Bounoure (1886-1969) and writer André Suarès (1868-1948). The admiration from the disciple towards his mentor quickly developped into a harmonious intellectual complicity. In his letters as well as in his articles, Bounoure comments on the ideas and the works of the "Condottiere" with rare intelligence. This article highlights the main takeaways from Bounoure's reading of Suarès' poetic works.
