This article focuses upon the the didactic tools and methods utilized to teach in secondary schools. The survey was conducted through an analysis of sections dedicated to the Comedy taken from widely adopted textbooks, and through an analysis of the didactic strategies, the selection of the Cantos and the final assessment. The main aim was to highlight any problem that seems to affect the teaching of Dante, especially in the first stage of Italian secondary education.
