The scholar and his secret: The sharing of knowledge in Robur-le-Conquérant

This article aims to question the representation and the value of science as they emerge from a reading of Robur le Conquérant (1886) and Maître du Monde (1904). More specifically, analysis will focus on the changes that seem to take place in connection with the vision and the role of scientific progress in these two novels, published eighteen years apart. We will particularly question the way in which the author presents and inserts knowledge in this diegetic universe.
