This article summarizes the fourteen contributions of the special report ‘Tristan Corbière en son temps’ (RHLF, No. 118–1, March 2018). It analyzes both the image of himself that the poet wanted to convey to his contemporaries and the image that his contemporaries retained. It also describes Corbière’s links with the writers of his time and with his Breton compatriots and explores the critical reception of Les Amours jaunes in the nineteenth century. Considering Corbière in the context of his time enables us to understand the ways in which he transcended it.
