Chemins de Tristan Corbière : de l'anthologieà la poésie

An anthology is a social fact by virtue of the very choice of the poems it selects and disseminates. Based on a corpus of the main collections of French poetry published in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, this study analyzes the image of Tristan Corbière that emerges from it, placing it in its ideological context. While the typical portrait of the Breton poet who died young and was mad about poetry and the sea dominates, poetry taken as a poetic act is more particularly characteristic of the anthologies of André Breton, André Gide, and Georges Pompidou.
