This study compares the Israelite Exodus narrative with other migration legends, distributed across time and space, which model the same characteristics, namely a hasty departure from the territory of origin where the group was tyrannized, the arrival at an obstacle deemed unbridgeable, and progress towards the current territory. It aims to detail the function of this type of legendary narrative.
