  • Abstract: This article aims to place the mission of the Apostle Paul to the Colony of Philippi Philippi, narrated in Acts 16, in its material context and local history, by drawing from the latest research on the archaeological and epigraphical sources. This evidence allows us to recontextualise the narrative of Acts and to address the material, political, institutional, social, cultural, linguistic and religious aspects of Paul’s visit.
