Abundant in quotations and references to anecdotes and sketches related to the character of Saniette, this article takes into account readings done by Serge Béhar, Marie Miguet-Ollagnier, and Alberto Beretta Anguissola, to propose a reading, including several other references, that attempts to shed some light on the ethical teachings contained in the representation of the character of the former archivist.
