Lise Lamour's illustrations for Gaspard de la Nuit raise the question of the relationship of image to text and that of originality. Color lithographs more or less announce the books they precede. Regarding the illustrations of each poem, it should be noted that the picturesque is well served, that interesting process create the strange; others disappoint : reduction to the anecdotal, absence of the phantasmagorical. Graphic design sometimes betrays a lack of artistic requirement.
