This contribution asks John Ashbery, a major figure in American poetry, to confide the details of his fascination with Raymond Roussel. The dossier includes a text by Ashbery which contextualises his research, as well as his article (impossible to find today) which appeared in 1964 in Bizarre. The reader will also find facsimiles of his unpublished correspondence and, finally, his interview with François Piron on the occasion of the Roussel exhibition in Madrid.
