The linguistic phenomenon of neology in the realm of the law is not just a means to enrich the legal language of a given society, but also contributes to the development of other legal systems and languages which are in contact. This analysis in contrastive jurilinguistics is based on examples of legal or semi-legal English and Italian terms and aims at revealing some of the conditions and consequences of their influence on other Romance languages.
