Mussetian lyricism as an expression of plurality How the redistribution of the dialogue form leads to the bursting of generic codes (in La Confession d’un enfant du siècle, Les Caprices de Marianne, and Les Nuits)

This article, which studies Musset’s apparent lyricism in dialogue form in three of his works, puts the bursting of generic codes on the agenda. Lyrical expression illustrates the porosity of literary genres in the romantic period, which no longer correspond to the Aristotelian heritage of mimesis but place the subject at the center of an expressive process: a multiple Subject, exploded, present in exchanges of dialogue as well as in the author’s narratorial figures.
