Space in Là-haut or Durtal up high

In contrast with Là-bas, the unfinished novel Là-haut sees Durtal set out in search of the Bon Lieu in the sweeping heights of La Salette. On arrival, the amateur pilgrim is disenchanted, because up there is also a there, a place of discomfort.
