From the 1980s to the present day, a number of French photographers have captured trails and small paths in relatively close-up shots presented in small formats. Such images pose, in a sensitive and pragmatic way, questions of scale - of which they make the viewer eminently conscious. The reception of these works becomes a propaedeutic experience for practices of deviation from the norm and modification of scale; it thus takes on a political dimension.
