“Rather young than old, but yet not young” The ageless characters, an example of the poetics of the indeterminate in Claude Simon

Based on the observation of the relativity and mobility of the notion of age in the work, this study observes a variable and unequal relationship to time (perception, measurement, marks) in the Simonian characters. This instability in relation to time partly explains why many Simonian characters are not doing their age. Often enigmatic due to their poorly established age, they can appear as witnesses to the bias for the indeterminate which characterizes the author's poetics.
