The Arabic language was not ignored by Renaissance humanism. The first printed grammars of Arabic (those of Alcalá and Postel) demonstrate the linguistic curiosity of some scholars who, through their travels and discourses, transferred Arabic from the Spanish West to the Ottoman East.
