The jurist Christoph Mellinger (c. 1522–1577), owner of the pseudo-Fifth Book of 1549

This note seeks to document the owner, who has thus far remained unknown, of the fake Fifth Book of 1549 kept in Chicago. He is identified as Christoph Mellinger, a book-loving Austrian jurist who held important positions within the Holy Roman Empire.
