In 1548, the reissue of Claude Colet's L'Oraison de Mars gives us the opportunity to read several new poèmes de circonstance, including a Latin huitain “ΑD LECTOREM F. R. CARMEN” and, after that, a Greek sizain without any indication of authorship. Several arguments make it possible to propose the hypothesis that this neo-Latin piece can be attributed to François Rabelais, whose Tiers livre was published in 1546 by the same printer Wechel. This is also an opportunity to shed light on Claude Colet, a little-known character.
