The logistics service provider as an integrator of supply chain. Evidences from an emerging market

This paper examines the different positions occupied by LSPs in national and global supply chains. The literature review allowed us to propose a categorization of LSPs according to their level of integration in supply chains, and also according to their capacity to integrate supply chain partners. The results of our empirical study identify four LSP profiles. Two of the four offer logistical activities and high value-added services that enable them to integrate into the supply chains of their principals. The last two offer innovative solutions enabling to integrate global supply chains.
