The impossible-possible of being still

“The impossible-possible of being still” problematizes the way that Yoann Bourgeois (with a circus background), Catherine Schaub-Abkarian (theater background) and Ruth Gibson (dance video background) present stillness onstage. This article highlights kinesthetic perceptions of the lived body of artists and their methods. It is based on interviews with artists as well as on a choreological analysis of kinesthetic thought that is preoccupied with stillness.
