The financial crisis of 2007 called into question a certain number of paradigms in financial economics, leading to a redeployment of research towards finance that takes greater account of sustainable development objectives. The objective of this article is to review the state of the art of work on sustainable finance through a bibliometric analysis carried out using the WoS database over the period 1981-2018. Our analysis highlights a recent field of study, with a strong dispersion of authors and a concentration of publications in a small number of journals. Sustainable finance is structured around five themes: the performance of SRI funds, corporate social responsibility, the performance of responsible companies and indices on stock markets, the investment strategies of financial actors and the role of pension funds in sustainable development.
