The Production of Nigerian Films in Europe Diasporic Production Companies and “Parallel” Film Practices

This essay looks at Nigerian video film production in Europe and analyses the different production and marketing strategies in various countries. Although Nollywood has worked as a brand to gain recognition, the position toward the industry in Nigeria is ambiguous, caught as they are between Europe and Nigeria in terms of audience, style, production value and distribution strategy. Their in-betweeness is both a strength and a weakness.
