This paper explores various tools for a formal analysis of TV serial narratives. It focuses on the tension between a proleptic structure (narratives are always liable to receive new sequences of events) and a potential closure (narratives are driven to an end when central elements of the story are modified). The aim of this study is to offer a comprehensive description of both internal and external factors.
