From a primitivist point of view, this article will try to mark what early cinema might have meant for Blaise Cendrars, following the historical particularities of this new entertainment as defined in the “new cinema history”. We will point out the values of such a renewal, in order to outline a possible connection with Cendrars’ modernist poetics as he developed it in the 1910s.
