The British film In the Loop is a satire whose protagonist is the minister for international development. The plot is centered around the institutional process leading to the United Kingdom entering into a war with a Middle Eastern country, evoking the real war against Saddam Hussein’s Iraq in 2003. In the Loop chooses to replace the prestige usually associated with the post of minister with an image of desperation, understandable given the minister’s status and the way he performs his ministerial duties.
