From “Confrontation” to “Dialogue” On the “Eurocentrism” of Comparative Literature

Comparative Literature’s “Eurocentrism”, denounced over time by Chinese specialists in the discipline, seems to be detrimental to European culture due to the fact that it compromises access to the cultures of other nations. The opposite stance of narrow “ethnocentrism” must also be avoided in order to move from “confrontation” to “dialogue”, and to achieve an egalitarian exchange between Chinese and Western Comparative Literatures.
