This article considers the typface and the iconographical ornemantation of the original edition of Les Amours jaunes, which belong to the Elzevirian typography, and reviews its history to try to understand its meaning, its spirit, from the Renaissance to its revival in the 19th century. The article puts the spotlights on the unrecognized figure of the printer Alcan-Lévy, known then as a specialist in Elzevirian printings, and on the constrat between the elegance of his production and the intentionally messy aspect that Corbière gives to his poetics.
