War violence and fiction in the “base novels” of Louis Dumur Violences de guerre et fiction chez Louis Dumur

According to several of Dumur’s contemporaries, the publication of Nach Paris! came far too late. His pamphleteering tone fueled renewed tensions that were no longer justified at a time of potential European reconstruction. Dumur had an entirely different view on the matter and, with this novel, established a simultaneously topical, imaginative, and historical form of writing.
