The correspondence exchanged between Louis Dumur and his brother Maurice is important on two levels: it first of all shows Dumur’s rootedness in Geneva, which can be seen in part in his work and lays the foundations for a simultaneously literary and historical “memory” whose full importance we can measure at a distance of one hundred years.
