There are many points of contact between Jean Lorrain (1855-1906) and Rachilde, the novelist and wife of Alfred Vallette : the editorial offices of the Zig-Zag, Décadent, Panurge or Lutèce but also the literary qualities which each saw in each other’s work. In the course of their twenty-year friendship, there were multiple opportunities to meet : at the evenings organised by the editors of La Plume, the Brotherhood of the vine leaf, Tuesdays at rue des Écoles, or during one of Lorrain’s legendary escapades.
