The genesis of the three “Genevan” novels by Louis Dumur was not without conflict, as demonstrated by the manuscripts preserved in the Cantonal Vaud Archives. Certain variations are particularly suggestive : changes made to particular scenes, modifications of characters’ names, numerous hesitations… With regard to the particular context surrounding Geneva at the beginning of the century, Louis Dumur shows particular prudence.
