After the discovery of Louis d’Hurcourt and Jean Bleumsteim, Joseph Durand remains the only unidentified dedicatee of the Poésies. Gérard Touzeau details the research that has taken place over almost a century, and paves a new avenue of enquiry, leading to the gallery of the celebrated art dealer Paul Durand, also known as Durand-Ruel, a stone’s throw away from Isidore Ducasse’s successive residences.
